Owner/Settlement Attorney

 

Cerissa O’Neal, a 14-year resident of the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, obtained her Bachelor of Arts and graduated Cum Laude from Howard University; and later, received her Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Prior to forming Milestone Title, Ms. O’Neal practiced various areas of law, including Personal Injury and Commercial Law. She also has widespread knowledge and experience in the real estate industry with specialization as a Settlement Attorney and Closing Agent.

 

As the founding member of Milestone, Ms. O’Neal is committed to excellence and is involved in all aspects of the company, from reviewing the files, conducting settlements, marketing, and resolving both basic and complex title and legal issues for her clients. As a real estate professional, Ms. O’Neal utilizes her practical and legal experience to provide superior service and expertise to buyers, sellers and other real estate and financial professionals and their clients.

 

She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Land Title Association, the American Bar Association, the Minority Building Industry Association, and the City of Alexandria Virginia Chamber of Commerce.

 

Senior Processor

 

Candace Duke, Senior Processor at Milestone, has been a real estate professional for almost a decade. As a real estate professional, Ms. Duke holds Settlement Agent Licenses in Virginia and Maryland, and is an active member in various real estate organizations such as the Maryland Land Title Association and the Minority Building Industry Association. Prior to joining Milestone, Ms. Duke held positions at Weichert Realtors in Washington, D.C., as the Processing Manager; and, at RGS Title, as a Real Estate Settlement Processor.

 

Ms. Duke is intricately involved in the day to day Milestone process and is involved in each case from start to finish. Her knowledge, talent, practical experience and commitment to our customers continues to be of tremendous benefit to Milestone.

 

Office Manager / Purchases Processor

 

Jackie O’Neal maintains dual roles as both Office Manager and Purchases Processor. As Office Manager, she manages staff, conducts payroll and oversees day-to-day operations and administrative functions. As the Purchases Processor at Milestone, she manages a heavy caseload and ensures purchase transactions are properly handled.

 

Jackie O’Neal previously lived in Grand Rapids, MI, where she worked as a Chief Operating Manager of the Customer Service Department. As a detailed and motivated self-starter, she brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of customer concerns and quality assurance.

 

Settlement Consultant

 

Darnella Ward is a licensed Maryland and Virginia Settlement Professional. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Dayton and received her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law Center in 2002. After graduating from law school, Ms. Ward practiced at the Chicago firms, Holland & Knight and Rachlis Durham Duff & Adler, where she gained experience in all aspects of litigation, from investigating and preparing initial pleadings to drafting discovery, preparing witnesses for trial, arguing trial motions, performing research and negotiating settlements. She also has experience in municipal zoning law and in assisting condominium and homeowners associations.

 

At Milestone Title, Ms. Ward is involved in all aspects of the company’s commercial and residential settlements, including, but not limited to conducting real estate settlements and resolving complex land and title issues.

 

Ms. Ward is a member of the Maryland Land Title Association, the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar.
